Petrol and diesel prices continue to rise
Petrol and diesel prices rose for the second day in a row and reached new record levels. According to the website of Indian Oil Corporation, a leading oil marketing company, petrol prices rose by 26 paise and diesel by 24 paise in four metros of the country including Delhi today.
In the national capital, petrol became costlier by 26 paise to Rs 94.49 and diesel by 23 paise to Rs 85.38 per liter. From last May 04 till now, their prices have been increased for 17 days while there has been no change in the prices for the remaining 12 days. Petrol has become costlier by Rs 4.09 and diesel by Rs 4.65 in Delhi during this period.
In Mumbai and Kolkata, petrol became costlier by 25 paise to Rs 100.72 and Rs 94.50 per liter respectively. In Chennai, its price increased by 23 paise to Rs 95.99 per liter. Diesel became costlier by 24 paise in Mumbai, 22 paise in Chennai and 23 paise in Kolkata and the cost of one liter of diesel was Rs 92.69 in Mumbai, Rs 90.12 in Chennai and Rs 88.23 in Kolkata. Petrol and diesel prices are reviewed daily and based on that new prices are implemented every day from 6 am.
