Final notice sent to follow the new rules immediately
The tussle between the Center and Twitter is set to escalate after the Vice President of India, Venkaiah Naidu’s account was unverified and re-verified and then the blue tick was removed from the accounts of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh veterans. Amidst all this, the government is now preparing to deal strictly with Twitter.
In the midst of the blue tick controversy, the Indian government has given a final notice to Twitter for compliance with the new IT rules. In this notice, the government bluntly told Twitter that it should immediately follow the conditions imposed for social media from May 26 and if Twitter does not do so, then the government can also take legal action on Twitter. It has been said by the government that Twitter India has been given a final notice to immediately comply with the new rules. According to the notice, if Twitter fails to comply with the same, then its exemption from liability under Section 79 of the IT Act 2000 will be withdrawn and action will be taken as per Twitter IT Act and other penal laws of India.

Twitter had removed the blue tick from the personal Twitter handle of Vice President of India M Venkaiah Naidu. Shortly after which Twitter restored the blue tick on the personal Twitter handle of Vice President of India M. Venkaiah Naidu. On removing the blue tick from the personal Twitter handle of Vice President of India M. Venkaiah Naidu, a Twitter spokesperson said that the account is inactive since July 2020. In accordance with our verification policy, Twitter may remove blue ticks and verified status if the account becomes inactivated.
