Environment inaugurated Lucknow dish washing facilities to keep clean.
World Environment Day KGMU is an important and large medical institutions. Along with the care of patients, it also plays an important role in environmental protection. For many years a Bio-Medical Waste Management facility has been established in the University campus itself which is running smoothly. This biomedical waste management has also been awarded by WHO. The use of disposable plastic plates used for patient feeding services was a major issue as huge amount of plastic was collected daily. On the occasion on Saturday, Vice Chancellor Lt Gen Dr. Vipin Puri inaugurated a dish washing facility to address the issue. Stainless steel plates will be used for this from now on. A machine to convert vegetable waste and leftover food into compost was also inaugurated in the kitchen, which will reduce the carbon footprint and contribute to keeping the environment clean. To increase the green cover in the university campus, many types of trees and plants were also planted inside the campus.
