RBI Deputy Governor Mahesh Kumar Jain’s tenure extended

The Central Government has extended the tenure of Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Deputy Governor Mahesh Kumar Jain for two years. According to RBI, Mr Jain has been re-appointed as deputy governor after his current term ends on June 21 this year for two years with effect from June 22 or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Mr Jain was appointed deputy governor in June 2018 for a three-year term. He was the Managing Director of IDBI Bank before joining RBI. He headed Indian Bank before joining IDBI Bank.
