Djokovic beats Nadal in final, title clash with Tsitsipas

World number one Novak Djokovic of Serbia defeated 13-time champion Rafael Nadal of Spain 3-6, 6-3, 7-6(4), 6-2 in a thrilling four-hour 22-minute contest. He entered the second Grand Slam French Open title match where he will face fifth seed Stefanos Tsitsipas of Greece on Sunday.
Djokovic said on the court after this win, “This is definitely one of the beautiful matches I’ve played in Paris. Djokovic made 50 winners and made 37 unforced errors in the match, while Nadal made 48 winners and made 55 unforced errors.

The defeat shattered Nadal’s dream of winning a record 21st Grand Slam title, while Djokovic is one win away from completing his second Grand Slam title and 19th Major title. Switzerland’s Roger Federer and Nadal hold the world record for 20-20 Grand Slam titles.
