No reduction in GST on corona vaccine

The Goods and Services Tax (GST) Council has kept the GST on the corona vaccine unchanged at five percent. In the 44th meeting of the GST Council, chaired by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, no decision could be taken regarding reducing the GST on vaccines.
After the meeting, the Finance Minister said that for all the countrymen, the Central Government is procuring the vaccine and giving it to the states, so no one needs to be worried about the GST rate. The rate of GST on this remains the same.
It is noteworthy that at present two vaccines are being manufactured domestically, on which 5% GST is levied.
