Uttarakhand / Haridwar : To make Haridwar green, Patanjali provided plants

Patanjali Yogpeeth General Secretary Acharya Balkrishna and HRDA Secretary Lalit Narayan Mishra, during the program organized at City Complex Mayapur, as part of the plantation drive being run by Haridwar-Roorkee Development Authority to make the city green, people associated with 20 social organizations. Started the campaign by distributing saplings. Under the campaign, with the help of Patanjali Yogpeeth, plants of Giloy, Tulsi and Aloe Vera with medicinal properties will be provided to every house in Haridwar. Acharya Balkrishna Maharaj said that Patanjali Yogpeeth has been determined to protect the environment and plant saplings since years. Herbs Day is celebrated every year on 4th August by Patanjali Yogpeeth. In which millions of plants are distributed and planted free of cost. He said that Giloy is going to be recognized as a national plant soon. He also gave detailed information about the medicinal uses and chemical properties of Giloy, while calling for planting medicinal plants with Neem, Tulsi and other Ayurvedic properties. HRDA Secretary Lalit Narayan Mishra while expressing gratitude to Acharya Balkrishna for providing the saplings said that Haridwar will definitely become a green gate with the help of Patanjali. He gave detailed information about the oxygen lane being developed by the authority on the Ganges canal track and the plantation drive across the city. Yashasvi, a young girl who performed a symbolic gesture of yoga on the occasion, was named the brand ambassador of the campaign.
