Uttarakhand / Rishikesh : Congress protest against Jwalapur MLA

Demanded to arrest and sack the rape accused MLA

The Congress raised slogans against the Jwalapur MLA accused of raping a female leader. He demanded the arrest and sacking of the accused MLA. Alleged that BJP MLAs who claim to be clean are being found indulging in allegations of harassment of women. But no action has been taken against anyone so far. On Sunday, Congress workers gathered in front of the Congress building on the railway road and demonstrated and burnt the effigy of the Jwalapur MLA accused of rape. City Congress President Mahant Vinay Saraswat said that BJP leaders are being found indulging in allegations of harassment of women one after the other, but the government is not taking any action, far from sacking them. From this it appears that somewhere in these crimes the government also has tacit consent. All India Congress Committee member Jayendra Ramola said that while another BJP leader gives the slogan of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, on the other hand, serious allegations like rape are leveled against his MLA by a woman leader of BJP. This clearly shows how sensitive this BJP government is towards the respect of women. State Secretary Madan Mohan Sharma has condemned the act done by the Congress MLA and demanded registration of a case against him. The protesters included former ministers Shoorveer Singh Sajwan, Sudhir Rai, Madhu Joshi, Kamlesh Sharma, Ramkumar Bhataliye, Saroj Devradi, Ashok Sharma, Nand Kishore Jatav, Ram Murti Verma, Harsh Sharma, Sanjay Tandon, Roshni Devi, Seema Devi, Deepak Jatav, Rishi Poswal, Imran Saifi, Punanjay Bhardwaj, Kamlesh Sharma, Rajendra Jatav, Ram Kumar, Sanjay Bhardwaj, Pradeep Jain, Hari Om, Aryan Giri, Satyendra Panwar, Rishi, Mantu Yadav, Shiva Singh were included.
