The country is facing the second wave of corona virus. The release schedule of many films has been affected due to this epidemic of Corona. In view of the current situation, the makers are now giving priority to digital release instead of theatrical release of films. Now information is coming out that Siddharth Malhotra’s war drama film Shershah will be released directly on the OTT platform instead of theatre. The makers have taken this decision due to the Corona epidemic.
According to the report, Siddharth’s film Sher Shah can now be released directly on the OTT platform instead of theatres. In February this year, the makers announced that the film would hit the theaters on July 2, 2021. The film will be based on the bravery of Param Vir Chakra winner Captain Vikram Batra, who was martyred in the Kargil War. Actor Siddharth has played the role of Captain Vikram in this film.
A source said, “The makers have decided to postpone the theatrical release of the film in view of the prevailing situation. With the passage of time, situations are becoming unpredictable. A deal between the makers and Amazon Prime Video is more or less completed. The team of the film can make an official announcement in this regard as soon as the paperwork is completed. The source further added that the makers are contemplating to release the film next month.
The film is directed by Vishnuvardhan. Shershaah will see Siddharth playing a double role as Vikram and his twin brother Vishal Batra. The film also stars Kiara Advani, Javed Jaffrey and Shiv Pandit in pivotal roles. The film was not released last year due to the corona virus epidemic. The film is produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions.
The story of the film will be around the life of Kargil war hero Captain Vikram. Vikram was born on September 9, 1974 in Palampur, Himachal Pradesh. He started his military career on 6 December 1997 with the 13 Jammu and Kashmir Rifles of the Indian Army. He had sacrificed his life for the country in the Kargil war.
