Wadhwani Foundation announces second phase of $1 million COVID aid

The Wadhwani Foundation (WF) today announced the second phase of its grant of $1 million. This amount will be given to help philanthropic organizations and NGOs to help reduce the fatal effects of the spread of COVID-19 in India.

In a statement issued here today, the Foundation said that the grant helps in the speedy delivery of medical resources and support to COVID-19 patients and their families. The organizations that have been selected for this second phase of the grant include Million ICU Initiative, Rapid Community Response to COVID-19 RCRC, Youth for Seva (Youth to Serve) relief work across the country under COVID-19, Doctors Without Borders COVID-19 response and Mission ICU.

Padmashree Dr. Romeshan Wadhwani, Founder and President of the Foundation said, India should strive to take a comprehensive approach to contain the impact of the pandemic on the most vulnerable. We are helping to focus on the ‘last mile’ of immediate relief. This provides maximum impact and adds more capacity to withstand future shocks.
The first phase of the grant includes the Wish Foundation, The Wadhwani Initiative for Sustainable Healthcare, Goonj: Rahat COVID 2021, American Indian Foundation, Indiaspora: Chalo Give Initiative.
