Webinar on drug addiction and cybercrime was organized by Indian Awareness Committee in association with Police, District Legal Authority Haridwar at DPS Ranipur. In which SSP Senthil Abudai, District Legal Authority Secretary/Judge Abhay Singh and High Court advocate Lalit Miglani were present. Children also participated in the webinar. Committee chairman and advocate Lalit Miglani informed the students about the law related to drugs and told the students that what works intoxication, and how a person who is addicted to drugs can be saved from intoxication. He also explained about cyber crime to the children in detail. Giving information, Lalit Miglani said that WhatsApp and Facebook should be used carefully. It is often seen that many people call people asking for details of credit, debit card, account number, pin number, PAN number etc. If any kind of call comes, then no information should ever be given to the caller. There is very little difference between children’s fun and crime. That’s why social media apps should be used very carefully. Giving information to the girl students, she told that if they face any problem then immediately register their complaint number 100 or 1090. He told the children that under the law, children get rights only after 18 years of age. A juvenile offense committed under the age of 18 years is tried before the Juvenile Board. If proven guilty, the children are kept in a correctional home as a punishment. SSP Senthil Abudei said that Haridwar Police is always ready to fight crime and is helping people with the cooperation of the society. He said that Haridwar Police has broken the back of drug business, in many cases criminals were sent to jail. Now the cooperation of the society is needed. He appealed that if there is any drug trade anywhere, immediately inform the police. The name and information of the informer will be kept confidential. Similarly, in case of cyber crime, immediately inform the helpline number 155260. Apart from this, give information to the nearest police station and write a report, so that immediate action can be taken on it. He appealed to the people to keep on reading the SMS coming from the bank and keep in touch with the bank. Giving detailed information to the students about the legal authority, Abhay Singh, Secretary, District Legal Authority, Haridwar, said that free legal aid is given to poor sections, SAC ST, women. They are also provided with free lawyers. The needy person can get the facility by giving an application in the office. He also distributed books related to law to the children.
