On the instructions of Uttar Pradesh Youth Congress Eastern Pradesh President Kanishk Pandey, on Monday, youth Congressmen staged a massive protest against the wild increase in the prices of petrol, diesel, cooking gas, food items etc.
President of District Youth Congress Lucknow Western in the capital Lucknow Under the leadership of Imran, a tonga rally was taken out at Parivartan Chowk and the government was demanded to immediately reduce the prices of petrol, diesel, cooking gas, food items etc. In the presence of heavy police force, the Youth Congressmen were arrested by the police and packed in buses to the Eco Garden from where the Youth Congressmen were released late in the evening. On this occasion of the protest, Imran said that if the BJP government does not reduce the prices of petrol, diesel, cooking gas, food items, then the Youth Congress will again be forced to take to the streets and struggle in the larger public interest. He said that today every section is moaning due to inflation. The price of cooking gas has gone up to around Rs 900 per cylinder. Petrol, diesel prices are hitting a century. Food items of daily use are becoming out of reach of common man. Vegetable prices are skyrocketing. The price of edible oil has increased from one hundred and fifty percent to two hundred percent. The Youth Congress leader said that the Bharatiya Janata Party government is only trying to win the elections yen-ken-type and is trying to throttle democracy. He said that Yogi and Modi government have no concern with the interests of the people.
Prominently in the protest are Gaurav Shukla, Aman Singh Chauhan, Saurabh Singh, Rakesh Singh, Satyendra Verma Lodhi, Mohd. Hundreds of youth Congressmen including Shafiq and Alok Yadav were involved.
