8 killed, 9 missing in Chinese building collapse
Eight people were killed and nine others are missing after a portion of a hotel collapsed in Suzhou city of Jiangsu province, China.
The accident happened last afternoon at 3.33 pm. According to the rescue headquarters, 23 people were trapped during the accident.
As of 7 am on Tuesday, 14 people have been traced, out of which one is in critical condition, five are stable, while nine are missing.
Preliminary investigation found that the collapse occurred due to an unauthorized renovation where the hotel is located. Further investigation is underway into the cause of the building collapse.
