Thakur holds high level meeting to review Olympic participation

Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur chaired the seventh meeting of the High Level Committee to review the preparation/participation of the Indian team for the Tokyo Olympics 2020. Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports Nishith Pramanik was also present in the meeting. The meeting was attended by Sports Secretary Ravi Mittal, SAI Director General Sandeep Pradhan, Indian Olympic Association President Narinder Batra and senior officials of the Sports Department.

Various aspects including world class training and facilities for the athletes selected for the Tokyo Olympics were discussed in the meeting. Anurag Thakur also discussed the progress of Cheer4India campaign and preparations for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s interaction with the athletes leaving for the Tokyo Olympics on 13th July at 5 PM to encourage them before participating in the next Games. The talks will be telecast live on Doordarshan and various government social media platforms.
