Haryana / Gurugram : 2 dead after drowning in hotel swimming pool
Two people aged 32 and 40 died after drowning in the swimming pool of a hotel on Pataudi-Helimandi road in Gurugram’s Pataudi area. Police have identified the deceased as Rajesh and Sher Singh, residents of Jatauli village in Pataudi.
The incident happened when four friends Rajesh, Sher Singh, Meherchand and Bhajan Lal had gone to party at the hotel.
All four had come to take a bath in the pool after drinking alcohol. While they were in the pool, Rajesh and Sher Singh suddenly started drowning and others started shouting for help.
Meherchand and Bhajanlal tried to save them but were unsuccessful.
As soon as the information was received, the officials of Pataudi police station reached the spot and took the dead bodies in their possession.
It is alleged that the pool operators did not take permission from the concerned department to run it as the pool is still not allowed to open due to COVID restrictions and no security arrangements were made there.
