An awareness rally was taken out from Rishikesh railway station on Sunday to increase the enthusiasm of the players ahead of the Olympics. In this, people associated with the sports world raised slogans in support of Vandana, the hockey player of Haridwar. On this occasion, the hope of better performance of Indian players in Tokyo Olympics was expressed. On Sunday, the Tokyo Olympic Awareness Rally of Khel Jagat Foundation Uttarakhand was flagged off by the Officer on Special Duty to Speaker Premchand Agarwal, Tajendra Singh Negi, at the old railway station. He said that Vandana along with other Indian players will bring laurels to the country by performing excellently in the Tokyo Olympics. Former rank holder Krishna Kumar Singhal, former municipality president Deep Sharma, sports lover DP Raturi said that Indian players would set a new record by winning gold medals. Rally organizer Shivani Gupta told that the Tokyo Olympic Awareness Rally will be completed from Rishikesh via Haridwar and going to Dehradun. The purpose of the awareness rally is to boost the morale of the Indian players. Sarojini Thapliyal, Pankaj Gupta, Sumit Sethi, Seema Rani, Kapil Gupta etc. were present on the occasion.
