Maharashtra / Mumbai : Five laborers killed, one injured in lift accident in Worli
Five laborers have died in an accident in an under-construction building named Lalit Ambika located in Worli on Saturday evening due to a sudden break in the lift, while Laxman Mandal (35) injured in this accident is being treated at Nair Hospital. The Guardian Minister of Mumbai district has ordered an inquiry into the accident.
According to the police, the cargo lift of the Lalit Ambika building under construction in Hanuman Gali in Worli collapsed on Saturday evening at 6.30 pm due to a wire break. Avinash Das (35), Bharat Mandal (28), Chinmaya Mandal (33) and two other laborers died in this accident. On information about the incident, Aaditya Thackeray, Guardian Minister of Mumbai district immediately reached the spot and took stock of the relief and rescue work. Aaditya Thackeray told reporters that the accident was a primary guess due to overloading, but a thorough investigation would be conducted into the matter.
