Fire proof coaches will soon be installed in trains
Indian Railways is constantly engaged in taking various safety technical measures in view of railway safety and security. In similar measures, trains with fire proof coaches will be started soon to prevent incidents of fire in the coaches of trains. As soon as smoke is seen rising in these coaches, the automatic fire alarm will sound and it will be known that the coach is on fire. The train will also stop as soon as the alarm is raised.
In Railways, coaches of this type of technology are being manufactured at Kapurthala Rail Coach Factory, which will provide safety to railway passengers due to being fire retardant. Not only this, LHB air conditioners of trains in this coach factory have started using Roof Mounted AC Package Unit with reverse cycle facility for improving fire safety and heating system in the coaches. According to railway sources, the Rail Coach Factory is designing new coaches in view of how the incidents of short circuit and arson can be reduced in trains. Presently this facility is being provided in five coaches and after receiving the feedback of its performance, it will be fitted in the coaches to be manufactured in the coming time. According to the Railways, in the direction of immediate rescue in case of fire in trains due to brake binding or any reason, Railways has installed advanced multi-level fire detection systems in AC coaches of Rajdhani, Shatabdi and all premium trains.
