Maharashtra : Lookout notice issued against former Mumbai Police Commissioner Parambir Singh, ban on leaving the country

The State Anti-Corruption Bureau has issued two lookout circulars against former Mumbai Police Commissioner Parambir Singh. This is the result of an ongoing investigation against him for corruption and extortion. Parambir Singh can no longer leave the country from any airport in the country. A lookout notice has been issued after an FIR was registered at Marine Drive police station against Parambir Singh for extorting Rs 20 crore from developer Shyam Sunder Agarwal. The second lookout notice is based on a preliminary investigation by the ACB, when police inspector Anup Dange alleged that he was suspended at the behest of Parambir Singh. It was reported that Dange had failed to favor some of the people involved in a pub dispute, so he was suspended. The ACB has also issued a lookout notice against Parambir Singh’s friend Jeetu Navlani, whom Parambir wanted to drop out of the FIR lodged by Dange. Dange had also alleged that Parambir Singh later demanded Rs 2 crore to revoke Dange’s suspension. A charge sheet has been filed against Navlani and others in the pub dispute case.
