Porn film case: Raj Kundra in judicial custody till August 10
Businessman Raj Kundra, the main accused in the sensational porn film racket case, has been sent to judicial custody for two weeks till August 10. His lawyer Abad Ponda gave this information here on Tuesday.
Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty’s husband Kundra was produced in a Mumbai court which rejected the prosecution’s plea seeking extension of his police custody by another seven days.
Ponda said Kundra’s bail application will be heard in the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate’s court on Wednesday.
Kundra was arrested by the Mumbai Police last Monday in the sensational case of making and distributing obscene material.
They have been charged with offenses under various provisions of the Indian Penal Code, the IT Act and the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act.
Soon after his arrest, he was remanded to police custody till 23 July, which was extended till 27 July. He has now been sent to judicial custody till August 10.
