India’s challenge in table tennis ends with the defeat of Sharath Kamal

India’s challenge in the Tokyo Olympics table tennis bouts ended with Achant Sharath Kamal losing to Olympic champion Ma Long of China.

Sharath lost to Long in the third round of men’s singles in a five-game match. Long won the match 11-7, 8-11, 13-11, 11-4, 11-4. Sharath was the last remaining Indian player in table tennis at the Olympics. Manika Batra and Sutirtha Mukherjee crashed out in women’s singles on Monday while G Satyan was eliminated two days ago. Sharath Kamal and Manika Batra crashed out in the first round of mixed doubles.
