Attack in Zabul province of Afghanistan kills five civilians

Five civilians were killed and 12 injured in a mortar attack in Afghanistan’s Zabul province. The health officer has given this information.

At least five civilians, including three children and two women, were killed when mortars fell on homes during clashes between government security forces and the Taliban on the outskirts of Kalat last evening.

Jabul Hospital’s chief doctor Nazir Harifal said that 12 people were injured in the incident. He said the condition of some of the injured remains critical. The Jabul Police has blamed the Taliban for the incident. There has been no comment from the Taliban on the incident so far.
