Uttarakhand / Haridwar : Accused arrested with 200 pave country liquor

As part of the campaign being run against those who smuggle and sell liquor, the police station Kankhal has arrested an accused who was smuggling liquor on a motorcycle. Two hundred paves of country liquor have been recovered from the possession of the accused. According to the information received from the police, Jagjitpur outpost in-charge SI Brijpal Singh was on patrol along with fellow policemen constable Jaipal, and Harendra. During this, a bike rider was stopped for questioning near Maya Vihar Tiraha Jagjitpur. On being suspicious of seeing plastic bags on the bike, when search was conducted, paves of country liquor were recovered in the bags. During interrogation, the bike rider revealed his name as Ankit Kumar resident of Tanda Mehrauli Laksar. A case was registered against the accused under the Excise Act and the bike used in smuggling liquor was also seized.
