Archer Deepika Kumari Charter out of Olympics after losing in final

Veteran Indian archer Deepika Kumari’s scintillating performance at the Tokyo Olympics ended after a straight-sets loss to South Korea’s Aan San in the women’s individual archery event.

World number one and three-time Olympian Deepika went down 0-6 to Aan San after defeating Ksenia Perova of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) 6-5 in a shoot-off in Round 16 at the Yumenoshima Park Archery Area.
Deepika had earlier crashed out of the mixed team archery event along with Pravin Jadhav after losing to potential champions South Korea. After Deepika’s exit, her husband Atanu Das is now the only remaining Indian archer at the Olympics to reach round 16 in the men’s individual round.
