People will get cheap electricity in Haryana, the government has reduced rates

Haryana Government has decided to reduce the electricity rates by 37 paise per unit in the state, giving relief to the electricity consumers. Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar gave this information. An official spokesperson said that this move of the government will save Rs 100 crore per month for the electricity consumers.

He said that the power distribution companies have achieved a substantial reduction in the average power purchase cost of about 46 paise per unit during 2020-21 as compared to the previous year. This was possible due to better planning and timeliness. The spokesperson said that this decision has been taken especially to benefit the consumers during COVID-19. This decision has also been included in the calculation of FSA (Fuel Overload Adjustment) done by the power regulator. He said that the State Government has made constant efforts to provide quality electricity to the consumers at affordable rates.
