Maharshtra / Nagpur : Minor left home after quarrel with sister-in-law, 6 people gang-raped within a few hours

A minor girl who left her house in anger after a family feud in Nagpur, Maharashtra was allegedly gang-raped by 6 people within a few hours at two different places. Four of the accused are autorickshaw drivers. According to the information received from the police, 3 accused have been arrested.

According to the information received, the minor was allegedly sexually harassed by 4 people in a room in Timki area and after that she was allegedly raped by 2 people in an autorickshaw near Mayo Hospital intersection. Police said that the girl, who belongs to a scheduled caste, had a fight with her sister-in-law at home. She then left the house and one of her friends dropped her in his autorickshaw in Lohapul area, where she met an autorickshaw driver, later identified as Shahnawaz alias Sana Mohammad Rashid (25), police said.

The officer said on the basis of the FIR that the girl asked Shahnawaz for money and shelter and on the pretext of giving help, he took her in his autorickshaw to an illegal liquor shop, where he drank alcohol and forced the girl to drink too. . He then took her to a rented house in Timki for two people who work as loaders at Nagpur railway station, the official said. There the girl was allegedly raped by Shahnawaz, his friend Tauseef Mohammad Yousuf (26) and two loaders, the official said. After this, Shahnawaz dropped the girl at the Mayo Hospital crossroads, the official said. According to the official, after she left, two other autorickshaw drivers forcibly took the girl in their vehicle and allegedly raped her.

The officer said that later two people found the girl alone late in the night and on talking, the girl told them that she needed some money so that she could board the train going to Nashik. They gave him some money. The GRP noticed the girl at Nagpur railway station and on having some doubts, they took the girl into confidence and handed her over to the child care centre, the official said. The GRP arrested Shahnawaz, Yusuf and Mohammad Musheer on Sunday. All of them are residents of Mominpura. They were handed over to Sitabuldi police station while 3 accused are absconding.
