Rajasthan / Jaipur : Jeep fell into the canal, five members of the same family were swept away
Three killed, search for two continues
In the Hanumangarh Town police station area of Hanumangarh district of Rajasthan, the search for two of the five people of the same family who were swept away by the jeep fell into the Indira canal for the second day today. According to police, Harish Jakhar, a resident of Bhuranpura, wife Suman, daughter Meenakshi (14), son Manish (07) and brother’s wife Manju (36) drowned in the water after the jeep fell into the canal near Ranjitpura village in the area.
The bodies of Suman, Meenakshi and Manju were taken out by the police and rescue teams who reached the spot, while the search for Harish and son Manish is going on in the canal on Monday as well. Police said that Harish Jakhar was going to Naurangdesar in connection with his engagement with his family when his jeep fell into the canal uncontrollably near RD-50 of Indira Gandhi Canal. State President of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Dr. Satish Poonia has expressed grief over the accident. Dr Poonia prayed to God to grant peace to the departed soul and strength to the bereaved family to bear the loss.
