Karnataka CM Bommai announces cabinet with 29 ministers, no deputy chief minister

Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has announced a cabinet consisting of 29 ministers, with no deputy chief minister. Bommai was elected the leader of the BJP legislature party last week and took oath as the chief minister on July 28.

At the same time, Vijayendra, son of former Chief Minister BS Yudiyurappa, has not been included in the cabinet. In the cabinet, 8 Lingayats, 7-7 ministers from Vokkalinga and OBC, 3 Dalits, 1 ST and one woman have been made ministers.
