Rupee strengthens by 6 paise
The rupee strengthened by seven paise to 74.28 per dollar in the interbank currency market today on the back of US dollar remaining under pressure against world major currencies and support provided by the domestic stock market reaching new highs. The rupee was at 74.35 per dollar on the previous day.
Rupee slipped a paisa today to open at Rs 74.36 per dollar and this was also its low level of the day. It touched an all-time high of Rs 74.22 per dollar on weakening dollar demand. In the end, it rose 7 paise to Rs 74.28 per dollar as compared to the previous day.
