Expert committee constituted for conservation of tigers in Rajasthan

Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has taken an important decision to prepare a long-term plan in view of the conservation of tigers and their growing family in the state. For this, he has approved the formation of an expert committee.

In this expert committee, Member of State Wildlife Board MLA Bharatsinh Kundanpur, Board member and former Member Secretary of National Tiger Conservation Authority Dr. Rajesh Gopal, Simrat Kaur Sandhu, Sunil Mehta, Dhirendra Godha, Jaisal Singh, General Secretary of World Wildlife Fund India And CEO Ravi Singh, Director, Wildlife Institute of India, Dehradun representative and Member Secretary, representative of National Tiger Conservation Authority have been included as members. The Chief Wildlife Warden will be the convener of the Rajasthan Committee.

In view of the growing population of tigers in the state, the Chief Minister had directed to constitute an expert committee to prepare a long-term action plan for their conservation. He had said that the state government is working on a plan to develop new tiger reserves to provide a safe haven to the tigers in line with the increasing number of tigers in the state.

Expressing happiness over the recent approval of Ramgarh Wildlife Sanctuary of Bundi region as a Tiger Reserve by the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA), Gehlot expressed happiness in promoting the conservation of tigers and other wildlife in other forest areas including Kumbhalgarh Sanctuary. instructions were given.
