CM Bommai accords cabinet rank status to Yeddyurappa

Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai replaced his predecessor B.S. Yeddyurappa has been accorded cabinet rank status.
The order was issued by the Under Secretary, Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms (DPAR).
The order of the Protocol Wing of the DPAR mentions that as long as the current Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai continues, Yeddyurappa will continue to get all the facilities of a cabinet-level minister.
This is happening for the first time. Yediyurappa can now continue to use a government bungalow, vehicle, 11 employees and security provided by the government.
Usually, the outgoing Chief Minister continues to levy these allowances for six months after demitting office. DAPR sources said, however, that they have been ordered to be accorded cabinet rank status. Chief Minister Bommai’s order has taken many by surprise.
