Bihar / Araria : Truck collides with auto, 5 killed, 6 injured in accident

A truck rammed into an auto packed with passengers in the Nagar police station area of Araria district of Bihar in the early hours of Monday, killing five people on the auto and injuring six others. All the injured have been admitted to the hospital for treatment.
According to the information received from the police, on Monday, an auto full of passengers was going from Purnia side on National Highway number 57 at around 3 am. As the auto reached near Kosiyari village, the driver of a truck was backing his vehicle, during which the truck hit the auto hard.
City police station in-charge Manish Kumar told RNS that in this accident four passengers aboard the auto died on the spot, while one passenger died in the hospital in the course of treatment.
The deceased have been identified as Nunulal Rishidev (50), Sushila Devi (55), Mahavati Devi (50), Meenakshi Kumari (5) and Gaurav Kumar (3), he said. Six people were injured in the incident, who have been admitted to various hospitals for treatment.
He said the condition of the injured was stated to be out of danger. The truck driver is said to be absconding after the incident. Police is probing the whole matter.
