Punjab : Drones dropped weapons, hand grenades, more than 100 cartridges and tiffin bombs found in Amritsar

In a joint search operation, three kg RDX, five hand grenades and more than 100 live cartridges were recovered by the Punjab Police and the Border Security Force in a joint search operation on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday near village Dalek, located on the Indo-Pakistan border in Amritsar, Punjab. Apart from this, the security forces have also recovered tiffin bombs and three detonators.

These weapons have been dropped by Pakistani drones around Dalek. On hearing the sound of drones and weapons being dropped, the villagers immediately informed the Punjab Police and BSF officials. After this, the security forces conducted a joint search operation in the area and after recovering a consignment of weapons, the plot of terrorist attack in the country was foiled.

According to the information, on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday, Pakistan’s intelligence agency, under a nefarious conspiracy, dropped a bag full of weapons near the village Dalake under Lopoke police station through a drone. The villagers became alert after hearing the sound of drones around their village and the village sarpanch immediately informed the Punjab Police and BSF officials over phone.

The sarpanch told that a drone-like sound came in his village and after that the sound of something big falling on the ground was heard. Police immediately reached the spot and launched a search operation and a bag was found late Sunday evening at around 6:30 pm. There is an atmosphere of panic among the villagers after getting the cache of weapons.

Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) Dinkar Gupta told in a press conference in Chandigarh on Monday that seven packets have been found inside the recovered bag. Found RDX in a pink colored packet. More than 100 9 mm cartridges, five hand grenades and three detonators were also recovered in this bag.

As soon as the information about the incident was received, the team of NIA (National Investigation Agency) also reached the spot. By 3 pm on Monday, all the bombs were defused by taking them to a safe place, while the BSF and police continued the search operation on the border till the time of writing this news.
