Himachal Pradesh : Two more bodies recovered on the fourth day, 19 dead so far, 11 still missing

Two more bodies have been recovered on the fourth day of the search and rescue operation after the accident in Kinnaur district, taking the death toll to 19. Relief and rescue work is still going on.

Earlier, on the third day on Friday, three bodies were retrieved. 11 passengers of the HRTC bus that had fallen victim to the accident are still missing. The stone pelting continues at the spot. Women and youth passengers were injured after stones fell on the HRTC bus passing through the highway at 4:38 pm on Friday.

The injured have been sent home after being given treatment at Bhavnagar Health Center. The sniffer dog involved in the search operation was also injured due to falling stone. The highway is currently closed for movement.

Earlier, the search operation was conducted at 4:00 am on Friday. During this, sniffer dogs procured from Shimla were also resorted to. The district administration has deployed digging machines to find the people buried between the stones and the soil.

The missing people are being searched from both sides by making a road on a 200 meter steep climb. Sutlej Jal Vidyut Nigam is making arrangements for food and drink for the teams engaged in the search operation. Arrangements have also been made for the families of the missing people.
