“Thanks to the Air Force”: Indian Ambassador said on safe return from Kabul in difficult circumstances

All the staff of the Indian Embassy in Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan, have been safely evacuated. They were brought today through a special Air Force flight. The government has said that all the staff of its embassy in Kabul were safely evacuated on Tuesday and all have reached home. The Indian Air Force is being praised for its handling of this humanitarian crisis amid the Taliban’s occupation of Kabul, the Taliban fighters keeping a close watch on the Indian embassy.

Indian Ambassador to Afghanistan Rudrendra Tandon and other staff along with ITBP personnel deployed in security were also brought through a special flight of the Air Force.

There was no repatriation of Indian citizens within the last 48 hours after the Taliban captured Kabul. This flight landed in Jamnagar, Gujarat. In a conversation with ANI, Tandon said that thanks to the Indian Air Force for bringing us here safely in these unusual circumstances. Tandon said, it is not that we have abandoned the people of Afghanistan.

Relationship with them and their well being has always been on our mind. We will be in constant touch with them. But I cannot say anything right now because the situation is changing very fast. ANI has also tweeted a video, in which Indians in the plane were shouting slogans of Bharat Mata Ki Jai. The comfort of returning home safely was clearly visible on his face.

India had sent two giant C-27 aircraft to Kabul on Sunday to bring back the Indians. The first plane returned with 45 people on Monday. But after the closure of the road and airspace, there was an atmosphere of chaos at Kabul Airport on Monday. Therefore, there was a delay in the return of Indian Embassy personnel, ITBP jawans.
