G-7 leaders to hold talks on Afghanistan issue on Thursday

The leaders of the G-7 countries will hold talks on the situation in Afghanistan on Thursday, 24 August.
This information was given by British Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Sunday. After this, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki confirmed that US President Joe Biden would be involved in this virtual talks. He said that during this time the evacuation of Americans from Afghanistan and providing humanitarian aid to the residents and refugees of Afghanistan will be discussed mainly.
Earlier, Mr Johnson’s office said British Prime Minister Johnson and UN chief Antonio Guterres discussed the issue of Afghanistan. It is noteworthy that the Taliban captured Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan, on 15 August, and with this the civilian government there collapsed.
