Bangladesh closely monitoring situation in Afghanistan: MEA

Bangladesh’s foreign ministry said it was closely monitoring the situation in Afghanistan. “The Government of Bangladesh is in regular touch with Bangladeshi nationals stranded in Afghanistan and has taken all possible measures for their safe and orderly departure,” the ministry said in a statement.

Bangladesh has so far evacuated 20 of its citizens from the war-torn country. Bangladesh called on all concerned to exercise “maximum restraint” during this “challenging time” and expressed hope that normalcy and peace will be restored in Afghanistan soon.
