Uttarakhand / Haridwar : Electricity workers showed harsh attitude

In Haridwar, the electricity workers have once again shown a strong attitude regarding the demands. On Saturday, at the gate of Chila Power House, officers and employees associated with all the organizations of energy, under the pre-determined programs of the Electricity Officer-Employee United Sangharsh Morcha, protested in the gate meeting meeting from 5 pm to 10 am every day from Saturday. It was decided to keep the mobile switched off. The employees leaders said that despite the lapse of more than a month, the 14-point demands as agreed in the talks with the Energy Minister on July 27 have not been fulfilled. The Energy Minister had assured to fulfill the demands while making a compromise. In the meeting, the officers and employees expressed their anger towards the corporation management and the Uttarakhand government for not fulfilling the demands. While staying united, everyone talked about making a strategy for the movement again.

The employees leaders appealed to the government to resolve the problems at the earliest and said that they should not be forced to go on strike. Vikas Upadhyay presided over the meeting and Mohd Anees presided.
In the meeting, the issues of equal work equal pay for contractual employees and the old 9-14-19 year arrangement of ACP for regular employees, promotion on vacant posts, revision of allowances, old pension system, bonus etc. were discussed. A call was given to ensure 100% participation in the GATE meeting to be held every Tuesday and Saturday.
