Uttarakhand / Rudraprayag : The demand for re-operation of ITI Chirbatia started a gradual fast

Local people have started a gradual fast from Saturday to demand the operation of the State Industrial Training Institute which has been closed in Chirbitia for the last two years. The agitators have decided to start a symbolic strike and hunger strike if the ITI is not started soon. In Chirbitia of Jakholi, local people under the banner of ITI Sangharsh Samiti, on the first day of the serial-fast, President of the Sangharsh Samiti, Sain Singh Mehra, President of Jan Vikas Sansthan Chirbitia Baisakhi Lal, President Luthiag Dinesh Singh Kantura, former President Prem Singh, social worker Kamal While sitting on the fast, Singh said that ITI was established in the year 1992. The ITI established for 29 years has been closed by the government in the year 2019, while the local people have also given about 20 drain land in Luthiag-Chirbitia to the institute. The Sangharsh Samiti says that the government closed the ITI saying that there was no building, while the money was also approved for the building on the identified land. President of Jan Vikas Sansthan Chirbitia, Baisakhi Lal says that he has given his house free of cost to run the institute till the ITI building is built. Pradhan Luthiag Dinesh Singh Kantura says that despite constant correspondence with the government, ITI was not started. Finally the decision to move has been taken. On this occasion, Mohit Dimri of Uttarakhand Kranti Dal and others have also extended their full support by reaching the site of the movement.
