CJI’s stern remarks on the behavior of bureaucrats especially police officers

Talk of forming a standing committee for complaints of harassment against bureaucrats

Chief Justice Ramana has already raised questions regarding the functioning of the police.

The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court has objected to the behavior of bureaucrats, especially police officers, across the country. A bench headed by Chief Justice NV Ramana of the Supreme Court said on Friday that I have deep objection to the behavior of bureaucrats especially police officers across the country. The Chief Justice indicated that he was thinking of setting up a standing committee to examine complaints of harassment against such police officers and bureaucrats.

The Standing Committee will be headed by the Chief Justice of the High Court. The Chief Justice said that we had thought about this but for now we are saving this decision. The Supreme Court made the above observation during the hearing on the application of suspended ADJ GP Singh of Chhattisgarh. Singh has filed an application in the Supreme Court seeking protection.

This has been said before about the police
The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court had said on March 26 that there are police officers with the ruling party, but when there is a change of power, the opposition starts targeting such police officers as soon as they come to power. Chief Justice NV Ramana said that this is a regrettable situation in the country. The court said that as soon as there is a change of power, there is a trend of filing cases like sedition which is a disturbing trend.

The Supreme Court made the above observation while giving protection from arrest to the suspended IPS officer Singh. Later in the same case on September 27, the Supreme Court had said that if a police officer earns money by coordinating with the government, he will have to pay it. The Supreme Court has said that the police officers who earn money during that time, in coordination with the government, they have to suffer after the change of power.
