Uttarakhand / Rishikesh : Rajmata Suraj Kunwar Shah merged into Panchtatva

Rajmata Suraj Kunwar Shah, wife of Manvendra Shah, the Raja of Tehri Garhwal and eight-time Lok Sabha MP, has merged with the Panchatattva. On Monday, his last rites were performed at the ancestral Purnanand Ghat in Munikireti. Several political figures including Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami gave him their last farewell.

Tehri Garhwal’s Rajmata Suraj Kunwar Shah (98) died on Saturday at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in Delhi. His body was brought to the Rajmahal Narendranagar on Monday. After his last visit to the palace, his last journey left for Ganga Ghat Munikireti. Preparations were made for the last rites at Munikireti’s Poornanand Ghat here. Before the last rites, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami laid wreath on the body. The Chief Minister met their families and expressed condolences. Assembly Speaker Premchand Agrawal, former Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat, Garhwal MP Tirath Singh Rawat, Cabinet Minister Subodh Uniyal, Cabinet Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat, MLA Khajan Das, Manujayendra Shah, Om Gopal Rawat, Mayor Anita Mamgai, Doon Mayor Sunil Uniyal Gama, social worker Bachan Pokhriyal, Chandraveer Pokhriyal, MLA Vinod Kandari, Paramarth President Swami Chidanand Maharaj, Munikireti Municipality President Roshan Raturi, Vinod Kukreti, DM Tehri Eva Srivastava, SSP Tripti Bhatt, ADM Ramji Sharan, SDM Devendra Negi, EO BP Bhatt, A large number of people including Manoj Dwivedi, Manish Dimri, Shamsher Singh Pundir, KK Singhal, Dinesh Sati were present.
