The Anganwadi workers of the district continued to boycott the work on Tuesday demanding increase in honorarium. Angry workers staged a sit-in outside the Office of the Child Development Department located at Vikas Bhawan. Congress workers, including former MLA Lalit Farswan, extended their support to the movement. Assured all possible cooperation. Under the banner of Anganwadi Workers, Sevika, Mini Employees Organization, the workers gathered outside Vikas Bhawan on Tuesday under the leadership of District President Bhagwati Joshi. In the meeting held here, the speakers said that they have agitated many times in the past for their one-point demands, but the demand could not be fulfilled till date. She said with one voice that she would not back down until her honorarium was Rs 18,000 a month. On this occasion Leela Arya, Tabassum, Sonu Arya, Devki Rawal, Mamta Rawal, Geeta Devi, Kamala Danu, Maryam David, Munni Arya, Khashti Devi, Ragi Martolia, Mohini Agri etc. were present. Lalit Farswan said that employees were always cheated in BJP rule. There is no one to listen to them. Now the employees have got hope from the Congress itself.
