Rahul Gandhi sitting on dharna at Lucknow airport, refused to go in the administration’s car

When Congress leader Rahul Gandhi reached Lucknow airport to go to Lakhimpur, he was stopped by the administration. After which Rahul sat on a dharna at Lucknow airport itself. At the same time, earlier it was reported that the UP government has taken a U-turn in the matter of not allowing opposition leaders to meet the farmers’ families in Lakhimpur Kheri. Yogi Adityanath’s government has allowed former Congress President Rahul Gandhi and his sister Priyanka Gandhi to visit Lakhimpur Kheri. Earlier on Monday, when Priyanka Gandhi was going to Lakhimpur Kheri, she was stopped at Hargaon in Sitapur. He has been kept in custody in Sitapur Police Lines since then. Rahul Gandhi left for Lucknow from Delhi this morning. He was stopped for a while at the airport, later he was allowed to board the plane for Lucknow.

Rahul Gandhi had attacked the Center and the UP government by holding a press conference on Wednesday morning. Rahul had said that the farmers of India are being attacked. They are being crushed by the car. But we are not being allowed to meet them. Rahul Gandhi had said that no one knows the truth about the incident of farmers being crushed by vehicles in Lakhimpur Kheri. We want to go there and know the ground reality. According to reports, the UP government has also allowed the Aam Aadmi Party delegation to visit Lakhimpur Kheri. Earlier, a group of Trinamool Congress MPs met the victims’ families by dodging the UP Police.

Rahul Gandhi had said that the UP government and the UP police have imposed section 144 in Lakhimpur Kheri, but only three of us want to go there. But the government is stopping the opposition leaders from going there. Rahul Gandhi had said that his sister has been arrested, while no action has been taken so far against the minister and his son accused of attacking farmers. Rahul Gandhi said that he will continue to raise his voice in favor of democracy.

Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi had also raised questions about the detention of his sister Priyanka Gandhi in Sitapur. Rahul Gandhi had tweeted saying that his sister is a true Congressman, she is not afraid of it. Priyanka Gandhi had also said earlier that she would not go back without meeting the families of the victims in Lakhimpur Kheri. She had said that even if it takes six months, she will stand firm.

Today, UP Minister Siddharth Nath Singh also retaliated on the allegations of Rahul Gandhi. He had said that brothers and sisters are doing politics. Singh reminded him of the 1984 riots. Also mentioned the opposition to the CAA law giving citizenship to Sikhs from Pakistan and other neighboring countries.
