Amit Shah will visit Kashmir amid increased terrorist attacks in the Valley

Union Home Minister Amit Shah is about to visit the Valley amid increased terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir in the last few days. Home Minister Amit Shah will remain in Jammu and Kashmir from 23 to 25 October. Home Minister Shah’s three-day visit is part of the second edition of the Centre’s mega program that began on September 8 this year under which 70 Union ministers visited the Union Territory.

This will be Amit Shah’s first visit to the Valley after the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir. This visit of the Home Minister has been designed to inform the public about various central schemes as well as to get feedback from the ground. Till now many ministers have reached the public. Sources said that after reaching the Valley, Amit Shah will meet officials, take stock of the law and order situation and review various projects.

Shah will also meet BJP leaders there, discuss various issues like security, development projects, mega outreach programs etc. The first mega outreach program of the central government took place during January 18-24 last year in which 36 union ministers visited Jammu and Kashmir. The objective of this program is to review the ongoing projects in J&K and developments after the abrogation of Article 370 and 35A.
Report has to be given to the Prime Minister’s Office

Several Union Ministers have interacted with the local people, administration and representatives of Panchayati Raj Institutions during their visit to Jammu and Kashmir. Simultaneously, the ministers have visited remote areas of Jammu and Kashmir. Especially South Kashmir, which was once considered the epicenter of terrorism. After the visit, last year all the ministers submitted their reports to the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) and the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) and the same process will be followed this year.
