Petrol-diesel rises for the second consecutive day

Domestic petrol and diesel prices were increased for the second day in a row, under pressure from the continued rise in crude oil in the international market. Petrol and diesel again became costlier by 35-35 paise per liter in the capital Delhi. After today’s increase, petrol in the capital Delhi reached Rs 106.54 per liter and diesel at Rs 95.27 per liter.

The prices of both of these were increased by 35-35 paise per liter. After today’s increase, petrol in Mumbai reached Rs 112.44 and diesel at Rs 103.26 per liter. In Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh, petrol is the most expensive at Rs 115.17 per liter and diesel at Rs 104.52 per liter, petrol in Patna at Rs 110.04 and diesel at Rs 101.86 per liter, petrol in Bengaluru at Rs 110.25 and diesel at Rs 101.12 per liter. Along with petrol, diesel has also scored a century in Ranchi. Petrol is priced at Rs 100.91 and diesel at Rs 100.53 per litre. In Noida, Delhi NCR, petrol is priced at Rs 103.74 and diesel at Rs 95.91 per litre.

Right now the price of petrol has crossed Rs 100 per liter in most of the major cities of the country and diesel in most of the major cities of the country is also moving towards hitting a century. Diesel has crossed Rs 100 in some cities. So far in this month, the prices of both of these have increased in 16 days out of 21 days. So far this month, petrol has become costlier by Rs 4.90 per liter and diesel by Rs 5.50 per liter.

Crude oil still remained high in the international market. The US market rose on Wednesday. On Thursday, crude oil showed a mixed trend in early trade in Singapore, where Brent crude fell by $ 0.05 to $ 85.77 a barrel while US crude was up $ 0.14 to trade at $ 83.56 a barrel. Last week too, both of them had seen a rise of about three per cent.

According to oil marketing company Indian Oil Corporation, petrol in Delhi reached Rs 106.54 per liter and diesel at Rs 95.27 per liter.

Prices of petrol and diesel are reviewed daily and on the basis of that new prices are implemented every day from 6 am.
