Delhi-NCR’s air is severe, CPC advises children, elderly and pregnant women not to leave the house

Children, elderly and pregnant women are advised not to step out of the house after the level of air pollution in Delhi and the entire NCR region reaches the severe category.  Delhi-NCR is choked due to pollution.  On Friday, the CPCB also shared information about the measures to avoid pollution.  Those who are complaining of cough, runny nose or chest pain-heaviness etc., they are advised to take rest at home with immediate medical consultation.

Apart from these, for those who have to go out for essential work, the CPCB has advised that after reaching back home, immediately clean the face twice with clean water and soap.  After this, drink lukewarm water only.  Also keep an eye on the routine.  In case of difficulty in breathing, consult a doctor without delay.

Promote work from home, relief will not be available till 18
On the other hand, the Central Pollution Control Board has estimated that the situation is not likely to improve till November 18.  Weather conditions will remain like this.  Winds will be completely calm during the night.  Government and private offices are advised by the CPCB to reduce the use of vehicles by 30 percent.  Promote car pooling along with work from home.  Get out of the house only when absolutely necessary.  All the administrative agencies working in Delhi-NCR are strictly instructed by the CPCB to regularly monitor and submit every report thereof to the board.  Strictly enforce the rules of respective AJC GRAP.

What to do to prevent pollution?
▪️ Stay indoors or leave work outside for later
▪️ Contact a doctor if you have trouble breathing, dizziness, phlegm, chest discomfort or pain, eye problems
▪️Lung or heart patients should keep their medicine available
▪️If using a mask, use an N-95 certified mask and follow the guidelines given in it, ordinary masks are ineffective
▪️Use only smokeless gas or electricity for cooking or heating
▪️Use public transport

What not to do to prevent pollution?
▪️Do not burn leaves, wood, agricultural products and garbage
▪️Do not go to high traffic and polluted places, construction areas
▪️Do not go for morning and late evening walk, run, jogging and exercise
▪️Do not open doors and windows in the early morning and late evening
▪️By use of cigarettes, bidis and other tobacco products
▪️Avoid driving cars, scooters and other motor vehicles
