Israel is vaccinating children between the ages of 5 and 11 to combat the Corona wave
Israel has started the vaccination of COVID-19 vaccine for children aged five to 11 years from Monday. With this, Israel has become one of the few countries that has started vaccinating children at such a young age to avert another wave of the corona epidemic. During the summer season, due to delta variants in this country, an increase in the number of cases of corona infection was seen, after which a campaign was launched here for a booster dose.
Now again some increase has been registered in the cases of infection. PM Naftali Bennett wrote on his Facebook page – Children in the country are being affected by this infection, almost half of the confirmed cases of corona, which have come up recently, are of children below the age of 11 years. The administration had already started vaccinations for adolescents between the ages of 12 and 17, but the decision to lower the age limit was made following a trial by the Pfizer company and recommendations from a panel of Israeli scientists. Although the campaign for underage children was officially due to start on Tuesday, the AFP team noticed in Tel Aviv that the vaccines have been started since Monday night.
Haley Neve, who is vaccinating children with Pfizer-BioNTech outside a clinic, said, ‘Vaccination is the best way to protect children in this era of corona epidemic.’ He said it was not an easy decision to take but the data available from the US, which started vaccinating children between the ages of five and 11 earlier this month, reassured us to a great extent. The PM himself is scheduled to get his younger son vaccinated against the corona vaccine on Tuesday morning, his office gave this information. Of the 9 million (9 million) people in Israel so far, more than 5.7 million people have been fully vaccinated.
