Novak Djokovic hasn’t shared vaccination report yet; Will not be able to participate in Australian Open
Australian Open 2022 tournament director Craig Tilly on Friday expressed hope that world number 1 Novak Djokovic will share his vaccination reports soon. It is worth noting that without vaccination, no player will be able to participate in this competition.
The Australian Open starts on January 17 and Djokovic, who has been world No. 1 for a record seventh year in a row, has not shared his COVID-19 vaccination reports.
The winner of the 20 majors is just one title away from tying up with Swiss star Roger Federer and Spain’s Rafael Nadal. “He (Djokovic) has yet to share the report of the COVID vaccination,” Tilly told Sen’s Watley on Friday.
Telly said, “Novak has won nine Australian Opens so far and I am sure he would like to win his 10th one as well. I don’t think Novak would like to take any risk with this.”
He said, “It has been a hot topic. I’ve answered more questions on this matter than anything else. He is one of the greatest players of all time and our people appreciate that.”
Tilly continued, “He is of the view that some people share (report) and most do not. There will be a fair deal with Novak. One thing we know, if he is playing here in January, he will have to vaccinate.”
