Nagaland : 13 killed in shelling, enraged villagers set vehicles of security forces on fire

So far 13 people have been killed, including a jawan, in the shelling that took place at Oting in Nagaland’s Mon district on Sunday. After this incident, the villagers have got furious and the vehicles of Indian security forces have been set on fire. It is being told that the security forces had received concrete information about the movement of the insurgents in the area and the Assam Rifles went there as part of a counter emergency operation.

After this incident, a statement of the country’s Home Minister Amit Shah has come out in which he is saying that ‘Saddened by the unfortunate developments in Oting, Mon, Nagaland, I express my condolences to the families of the deceased. The state government has constituted a high-level SIT to probe the developments. Victims’ families will get justice.

This is the case of Tiru village of Mon Ke Oting in Nagaland. Where on December 4, at around 4 pm, some people were returning after sitting in a mini pickup, but when those people did not return home after a long delay, their family members started looking for them. Their bodies were found at some distance and after this the villagers got angry and set fire to the vehicles of the security forces. It is alleged that it was the security forces who attacked those innocent, although this has not been confirmed. After the SIT investigation of the incident, the truth will come out. The statement of the Assam Rifles has also come, after this incident there has been a reaction from the Assam Rifles as well. According to an official statement, the Assam Rifles said that there was a definite information about the movement of the insurgents in the area. Only after that the preparation for the operation was made. The Assam Rifles has also expressed regret over the incident. And said that a high level investigation is being done in this matter. According to the law to the culprits, in this whole incident a jawan has lost his life and many people have been injured.
