Additional Commissioner Garhwal Narendra Singh Queriyal reached Uttarkashi on Saturday. Where he held an important meeting with political parties in Uttarkashi regarding fair, transparency and successful editing of the upcoming Legislative Assembly General Election.

The Additional Commissioner said that in accordance with the guidelines of the State Election Commission, voters across the state are being made aware of 100% voting through various means. We all also have a moral responsibility that fair elections should be conducted constitutionally. He expected the representatives of political parties to remove the promotional materials like posters, banners etc. on government and non-government properties before the model code of conduct.

Additional Commissioner Garhwal directed the Deputy District Election Officer that the name of the voter should not be included in the voter list from one place to another. Notice should be given to the voters whose names are mentioned in two places. For this, a register of addition and deletion of names should be given to the BLO in the form of a record. Apart from this, the names of voters residing in slums, slums should be compulsorily included in the voter list by BLOs. For this, instructions were given to take action on priority basis in time. He also directed to add more and more young voters to the voter list. After that, Additional Commissioner Garhwal also inspected the polling places and took stock of the arrangements. Additional District Magistrate Teerthpal Singh, Assistant District Election Officer Arunesh Painuli, State General Secretary Congress Bhupesh Kudial, BJP City General Secretary Bharat Bhushan Nautiyal, Suresh Raturi, District General Secretary CPU Mahavir Prasad Nautiyal were also present in the meeting.
